Essential Oils & How I Use Them in My Office
To help you get started, I'd like to share with you how I use essential oils in my home office. I keep them at my desk, near my diffuser, near my thinking chair, and near the door. Near My Water Glass I keep two oils - lemon and the Thieves blend - near my water glass. What I do is add a drop or two to each glass of water. My suggestion is to aim for one drop and if more comes out, that's okay. When I was trying to lose a few pounds, I often used peppermint oil instead of lemon. Why lemon, peppermint, and Thieves? Studies have shown that therapeutic grade lemon essential oil contains compounds that can boost the immune system, increase energy, and help with relaxation and brain function. Some of the compounds in peppermint oil have been shown to have antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic, antiviral, appetite suppression, and pain-relieving properties. The Thieves blend is consists of the essential oils of clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eurclyptus radiata, and rosemary. Compounds in the oils of this blend have been shown to have antibacterial, antifungal, anti-infectious, antimicrobial, antiparasitic, antiviral properties, and more. This is a powerful blend that you'll read about again, below.
Near My Phone I keep a bottle of Clarity and rosemary near my phone. If I want a quick brain boost, I just pick up one of these bottles and inhale. My mother prefers the Brain Power blend at her desk.
Near My Computer I keep a bottle of rose oil and the Abundance blend near my computer. The Abundance blend - with frankincense, myrrh, cinnamon bark, patchouli, orange, clove, ginger, and spruce - is self-explanatory. Why rose oil? Many studies confirm that computers give off electro-magnetic pollution, and there are many ways of dealing with it. My choice is rose oil, because of all of the different essential oils, its frequency measures the highest. In My Bottom Desk Drawer Okay, I confess! I keep a stash of essential oils in one of my bottom desk drawers. Near My Diffuser Diffusers can be placed almost anywhere, but higher up is best. Mine is about four feet up from the floor. I keep the Purification blend and one other blend near the diffuser. I use the Purification blend to help counteract the outgassing from so much paper in my office. Many people use it to help deal with the outgassing from new draperies or carpets. The second oil near the diffuser is usually the Believe blend - just because I love the aroma of Idaho balsam fir, rosewood, and frankincense. If I had a cold, I would be diffusing Thieves, Raven, or R.C. Diffuser instructions typically recommend cleaning out the well of the diffuser before adding a new oil. Most people I know don't bother with this, and I don't either. Near My Chair and Ottoman Here is where I keep one of my favorite blends. When I inhale it and think of what I want to accomplish next, I'm suddenly motivated and the process just flows. My favorite blend is galled Egyptian Gold and contains some of my favorite oils - frankincense, myrrh, rose, Idaho balsom fir, cedarwood - along with lavender, cinnamon bark, and hyssop. Your favorite office blend may be different from mine. Some people prefer Brain Power, Clarity, Envision, Highest Potential, Inspiration, Into the Future, Magnify Your Purpose, or Motivation. It's an individual choice. On the Bookshelf Near the Door I keep a bottle of he Thieves blend here. You read about it earlier. Whenever I leave the house, especially during cold and flu season, I want powerful immune protection. One of the quickest and easiest ways for me to do this is to take off my six, put several drops of Thieves on the soles of both feet, and rub it in. When I arrive at my destination, I'm confident about my protection from whatever bugs are going around. Besides that, my car smells great! Purchasing Any of These Essential Oils Some of the oils I've mentioned are available in kits and others are available only as individual bottles. You can order any of them, including a diffuser,
